Tea Light Candle Holders
January 8th, 2012 by admin
These wee sweeties are quick and easy, and can be customised to match your colour theme simply by changing the threads. For an added effect try adding silk petals. Because the tea light is flameless there is no issue of anything catching fire.
The flameless candles can be purchased at My Wedding Store (nz) and the fabric stiffener can be found at Spotlight.

Artisan invite – Elegance with a little sparkle
November 30th, 2011 by admin
Andrea & Richie.
This lovely couple wanted an invitation that was simply elegant. We focused on the use of more traditional styling but adding some modern elements. We did this through the use of textured stock(paper) and a beautiful typeface called Shelley. To add a splash of colour we create a wrap that hold the three parts of the invitation together. The wrap is printed on a pearl translucent paper to give just a hint of shimmer to contrast against the off white of the paper. To finish off the look and create an elegant feel we used an onyx rich metallic black envelope.
The details:
Paper:
- Digital Traditional by B&F papers
- Pearl by B&F papers
Printing:
- Black and white for the invitation
- Colour for the wrap
Envelope:
- Onyx by Envelope World
Typography:
- Shelley – for the invitation and bride and grooms names.
- P22Johnston Underground – for small details
- Guest names are to be handwritten by the bride.
Colours:
- Deep charcoal.
- Mushroom Pink
Real wedding – Sandra & James

THE HAPPY COUPLE:
Sandra & James
DATE & LOCATION OF THE WEDDING
2nd January 2010, Waimate, South Canterbury
LOVE STORY:
We met on-line, but both were not really ready for love, so we became best friends. Over many movie weekends – watching ALL of the Lord of the Rings series, we realized that our friendship was so much more. We became engaged 4 years later, when James cooked dinner and proposed on bended knee with my ring on a platter surrounded by chocolate coated strawberries.
BRIDE:
Sandra from Napier
GROOM:
James from Auckland
STYLE / THEME OF THE WEDDING:
Country / Traditional / Intimate family wedding
Strawberries where a strong theme running through with photos in the fields and berries and chocolate fondue for dessert.
CEREMONY LOCATION:
St Augustine’s Church, Waimate, South Canterbury. We were married in my parents hometown. In a 100 year old church with stain glass windows by my favorite designer – William Morris.
RECEPTION VENUE:
Butler’s Berry Farm, Waimate, it was their first wedding reception but they did a great job. The food was amazing, as it was just immediate family and our best friends the café was the perfect size. I loved that they made us a picnic hamper to take home with us.
YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORY OF THE DAY:
We spent our wedding night at Te Kiteroa Lodge above the town. My bridesmaid and her husband were staying there too. My favorite memory is sitting in our gorgeous room over looking the small town, at the end of the day, drinking wine from the homesteads vineyard and eating cheese from Whitestone Cheese with my wonderful husband at my side and best friend pulling bobby pins from my hair and just thinking the world was just right at the moment.
YOUR NUMBER 1 TIP:
Make the time to take a professional photo with everyone on your guests.
Felt Bouquet
November 6th, 2011 by adminA bridal bouquet made of felt is a fantastic idea, and a surprisingly easy option. Even better is that you will always have it. I love these so much I am going to have a go at making one myself.
